What the price covers
Each session is a doctor-led treatment using your own blood, prepared in the clinic and injected into the area being treated. You are not paying for a product off a shelf. You are paying for a doctor to assess whether PRP is right for you, to prepare and place it carefully, and to review how you respond.
How many sessions will you need?
Hair loss is usually planned as a course of three sessions, which is why the three-session price is lower than three single sessions. Facial and joint plans are set at your consultation. A good plan always has a review point, so you decide whether to continue based on your results rather than a prepaid promise.

Is PRP worth the cost? What the evidence says
PRP is promising in some areas and unproven in others. We think you should know that before you pay.
- Tendon problems: NICE says the evidence raises no major safety concerns, but that evidence on efficacy remains inadequate (NICE HTG299: autologous blood injection for tendinopathy).
- Knee osteoarthritis: NICE says no major safety concerns, with efficacy evidence limited in quality (NICE HTG497: PRP injections for knee osteoarthritis).
- Skin ageing: a meta-analysis of 9 trials in skin ageing (PMC12894766) of 358 patients found better satisfaction (risk ratio 1.34) and objective assessment (risk ratio 1.42) than controls, with no significant difference in adverse reactions and some inconsistency between studies.
- Hair loss: PRP is not part of the NICE CKS drug pathway, which names topical minoxidil and oral finasteride (NICE CKS: Male pattern hair loss). Published PRP evidence is mixed in quality, so we position it as something to consider after a diagnosis, not a guarantee.

Free and lower-cost routes to consider first
A GP can assess hair loss, joint pain and skin concerns on the NHS, and in many areas you can refer yourself to NHS community musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy without a GP referral. If you have not tried these routes, it is worth doing so alongside any private plan.
