How to Make Your PRP Work Better: The Lifestyle Guide
You are investing time and money into PRP treatments. Naturally, you want the best possible result.
Since PRP uses your blood to heal your body, the quality of the treatment depends directly on your health. If your blood is full of inflammatory markers and low on nutrients, your plasma won't be as potent.
Here is the "Bio-Hackers Guide" to supercharging your PRP results before you even step into the clinic.
1. Hydrate Like You Mean It
Why: Plasma is mostly water. If you are dehydrated, your blood is thicker and harder to draw, and the yield of plasma will be lower.
The Hack: Drink 2-3 litres of water the day before your appointment and 1 litre the morning of. Avoid alcohol for 24 hours (it dehydrates you).
2. The "Platelet Diet"
Why: You want healthy, active platelets.
The Hack: In the week leading up to your session, eat:
Greens: Spinach, kale (Vitamin K).
Lean Protein: Chicken, fish, beans (Amino acids).
B12 & Iron: Red meat or supplements (Red blood cell health).
Avoid: Excessive sugar and processed fatty foods (increases inflammation in the blood).
3. Stop the NSAIDs
Why: Anti-inflammatories like Ibuprofen, Aspirin, and Naproxen work by stopping platelet activation. This is the exact opposite of what we want! PRP relies on acute inflammation to trigger healing.
The Hack: Stop taking NSAIDs 7 days before and 7 days after treatment. Use Paracetamol for pain relief if needed, as it doesn't affect platelets.

4. Supplement Wisely
Certain supplements can boost hair and skin health, enhancing the effect of the growth factors.
Biotin: For hair strength.
Vitamin C: Essential for collagen synthesis.
Zinc: Supports tissue repair.
Omega-3: Reduces chronic inflammation (which is bad) while supporting cell membrane health.
5. Cardio Exercise
Why: Good circulation improves the delivery of the PRP to the tissues and helps you recover faster.
The Hack: Do a cardio workout the day before your treatment to get your blood moving. (But skip the gym on the day of treatment to avoid sweating into the injection sites).
