PRP And Regenerative Treatment For Visitors To London
If you are in London for a few days and want treatment while you are here, the first question is not what to have but what is realistic in the time you have. Some things can be completed in a single visit. Others are courses that build over months, and a single session on a short trip will not deliver them. This explains which is which, so the trip is worth making.
Key points
Our Portman Square clinic sits a few minutes from Marble Arch, Park Lane, Bond Street and the hotels of Mayfair and Marylebone, with a second site in Belgravia close to Victoria.
Assessment, blood testing, diagnosis and a first treatment can be completed in one visit, often the same day.
PRP for hair and skin works as a course over months, so a single session on a 3 day trip is a start rather than a result. We will tell you that before you book.
You leave with a written summary and a protocol your own doctor can continue, so the visit is not a dead end.

Where we are, and why it matters on a short trip
Our main clinic is at 10 Portman Square, London W1H 6AZ. That puts us a few minutes' walk from Marble Arch, Oxford Street, Park Lane, Bond Street and the hotels of Mayfair and Marylebone, and a short drive from Knightsbridge and Belgravia. For anyone staying in central London, an appointment does not require crossing the city or losing half a day.
Our second site is at the Light Centre, 9 Eccleston Street, London SW1W 9LX in Belgravia, close to Victoria, which suits anyone staying south of Hyde Park or travelling in from Gatwick.
Both are doctor-led, both offer the same range of treatment, and your notes apply across them. Appointments can usually be arranged the same day, and we will work around a schedule where we can. Ask, and we will tell you honestly what is possible rather than what sounds accommodating.
What can realistically be done, by trip length
A single day
An assessment with a GMC-registered doctor, examination and dermoscopy where relevant, blood testing taken in house, and a first treatment on the same visit where it is appropriate. For joint and tendon problems, an ultrasound-guided injection can be completed in one appointment and is often the most self-contained thing we do.
A private prescription where you need medication continued or started, issued the same day and dispensed at a UK pharmacy.
Three to five days
Everything above, plus time for blood results to return and be discussed, so you leave with a diagnosis rather than a treatment alone. This is the length of trip where a visit actually changes something, because the answer to what is causing the problem is often more valuable than a single session of anything.
Two weeks or more
Two sessions of a course can be spaced within a longer stay, which gets a hair or skin programme properly started before you continue at home.
Regular visitors
If you are in London every few weeks or months, a full course and maintenance schedule can be built around your travel. Several of our patients are treated entirely on that basis.
Tell us how long you are here and we will tell you what fits. Message us on WhatsApp.
What we will tell you not to do
This is the part worth reading before you book anything anywhere.
Do not have a treatment for the first time immediately before an event, a flight or an important meeting. Under-eye work in particular can bruise, and bruising there can last a week or more because the skin is the thinnest on the body.
Do not expect a single PRP session to deliver a course. For hair, reduced shedding often appears within 1 to 2 months and visible thickening from around 3 months, with the fullest result between 6 and 12 months. One session is a start. A clinic that implies otherwise on a short trip is selling you something.
Do not accept treatment without a diagnosis because time is short. Hair loss in particular has several causes, and a scarring alopecia treated as ordinary thinning loses follicles permanently. Being told what you have is the fastest thing we can do and the most valuable.
Do not start something you cannot continue. If you are here once and will not return, we will recommend the plan that works in your own country, not the one that requires you to fly back.
Continuity with your doctor at home
Everything we do is written up. You receive a summary covering the assessment, the diagnosis, any blood results with interpretation, what was done and what should follow, in a form your own doctor can act on.
Where your treatment should continue abroad, we set out the protocol clearly, including what was used, at what interval and what to monitor, so a clinician elsewhere is not guessing. Where results need review, that can often be done remotely.
We also read what you bring. Blood results from home, imaging, a letter from your own doctor. Interpreting tests you have already paid for is frequently the most useful hour of a visit, and it costs you nothing extra.
What we treat
Hair
PRP for pattern hair loss and thinning, with diagnosis by examination, dermoscopy and blood testing covering iron studies, full thyroid function, vitamin D, B12, zinc and the relevant hormonal markers, run from the same clinic.
Face and skin
PRP and polynucleotides for skin quality, texture and thin, crepey under-eye skin. These improve the tissue rather than adding volume, which is a distinction worth understanding before you choose.
Joints and tendons
Ultrasound-guided PRP for tendon and joint conditions, which is the most self-contained treatment for a visitor because a single guided injection can be completed in one appointment.
What treatment costs
Flagship Harley Street and Mayfair clinics commonly charge £600 to £850 or more per PRP session for hair, doctor-led under-eye and facial work generally runs £400 to £850 per session or course, and specialist central London clinics charge from around £780 to £900 or more per image-guided joint or tendon injection. London practices typically charge 50 to 70 percent more than clinics outside the capital.
Our care is doctor-led and priced below flagship central London rates, with the figure for your plan confirmed after your free suitability review. Treatment is self-pay, since PRP is not funded by the NHS for these conditions and private insurance rarely covers it.
Ask what your visit would involve and cost. Message us on WhatsApp.
The suitability review
Every enquiry begins with a free doctor-led suitability review rather than a booking, and for visitors we will do this before you travel wherever possible, so you arrive knowing what is worth doing.
A GMC-registered doctor assesses you and gives one of two answers. Approved for treatment, with what fits the time you have and what should follow at home. Or not approved, in which case we say so and explain what would serve you better, including when the honest answer is to do nothing on this trip.
We decline a meaningful share of enquiries. For a visitor with a fixed departure date, being told that clearly in advance is worth more than an appointment that was never going to help.
Why people choose The London PRP Clinic by The Wellness
The London PRP Clinic by The Wellness is a doctor-led, blood-test-first clinic. Every treatment is performed by GMC-registered doctors, and no clinician treats a patient here until they have completed 100 supervised treatments.
Diagnosis, blood testing, prescribing and treatment sit under one roof, which is why so much can be resolved in a single visit rather than across three appointments in three places. Across our work we report an 87 percent patient success rate, a 32 percent average density increase in hair restoration and more than 187 five-star reviews, and we train other clinicians in these techniques through our Academy.

Our main clinic is at 10 Portman Square, a few minutes from Marble Arch, Park Lane and Bond Street, with a second site in Belgravia close to Victoria.
Is one PRP session worth having on a short trip?
