PRP Hair Package London. What A Course Should Include

PRP for hair works as a course, not a single session. Trials that show benefit almost always use 3 or more sessions spaced around a month apart, followed by maintenance. So the real question is not what 1 session costs, but what a complete course includes and whether it is built around a diagnosis. A good package covers the assessment, blood tests, 3 sessions, measured photographs and reviews at 3 and 6 months. At The London PRP Clinic by The Wellness, a course of 3 is from Β£1,215, with the Β£300 hair consultation included.

Key points

  • A 2025 meta-analysis of 43 randomised trials and 1,877 participants found PRP increases hair density in pattern hair loss. Trials typically use a course of sessions rather than a single treatment.

  • The most common reason PRP disappoints is treating the wrong cause. Low ferritin, thyroid problems and scarring alopecias need different treatment, so blood tests and trichoscopy belong in the package.

  • Flagship Harley Street and Mayfair clinics commonly charge Β£600 to Β£850 or more per session, which puts a course of 3 at Β£1,800 to Β£2,550 or more before any consultation.

  • At The London PRP Clinic by The Wellness, a single session is from Β£450 and a course of 3 is from Β£1,215, including the hair consultation with trichoscopy.

Why PRP is given as a course

Hair grows in cycles, and each follicle spends months in its growth phase. PRP works by delivering growth factors that support follicles and lengthen that phase, and the effect builds with repeated treatment. A single session can start the process, but it rarely produces a lasting, visible change on its own. That is why trials and experienced clinics use an initial course of around 3 sessions about a month apart, then review, then maintain.

Results also take time to show. Because hair grows at roughly 1 centimetre a month, early changes such as less shedding appear first, and visible density follows over 3 to 6 months. Our full schedule is in how many PRP sessions for hair loss.

What a good package should include

1. A doctor-led assessment

A full history and scalp examination by a doctor, including trichoscopy, a magnified view of the follicles that shows whether hair is shedding, shrinking or scarred. This decides whether PRP is right at all.

2. Blood tests

Ferritin and iron studies, thyroid function, vitamin D, B12, zinc and, where relevant, hormones. A deficiency can hold back any treatment, and correcting it often improves the result. See the hair loss blood panel.

3. A consistent, validated preparation

PRP is not standardised. Ask how it is prepared, what platelet concentration is aimed for and whether every session uses the same method. We explain why this matters in PRP vs PRF.

4. 3 sessions, performed by a doctor

Each session should be performed by a GMC-registered doctor, with the same care at the third session as the first.

5. Measured progress

Standardised photographs and repeat trichoscopy at the start, around 3 months and around 6 months, so results are measured rather than guessed.

6. A plan for after the course

A clear recommendation for maintenance, typically every few months, and for anything that should run alongside, such as minoxidil. How long results last is covered in how long do PRP results last.

How to compare packages fairly

Compare the whole course, not the session price

A low price per session can hide a separate consultation fee, no blood tests and no follow-up reviews. Add up everything you will pay from the first appointment to the 6-month review.

Ask who performs the treatment

A doctor-led package means a doctor assesses you, diagnoses you and performs every session.

Ask what happens if it is not working

A good clinic reviews progress against your starting point and changes the plan if you are not responding, rather than selling more of the same. The usual reasons PRP underperforms are explained in why didn't my PRP work.

What results to expect

Across our hair restoration work, we report a 32 percent average density increase at 6 months, measured with standardised photographs and trichoscopy. Most people notice less shedding first, then thicker hair over 3 to 6 months. PRP works best on follicles that are still producing hair, which is why starting early matters. Results are strongest when PRP is part of a combination plan, as explained in combination hair treatment. The evidence across conditions is in PRP success rates.
